Gus J/22 sails have won it all - The World Championship, North American Champion, and possibly more overall Southwest Circuit Championships than all our competing sailmakers combined. We revolutionized the class by shortening the leech of the mainsail and replacing that lost sail area with girth up higher on the sail. It took a skillful knowledge of the class rules and sail design to make the move. All our competing sailmakers laughed at the sail when they first saw it, but stopped laughing when we won the North Americans and further endorsed the idea by introducing the idea to their designs the following year. Now, thanks to Gus Sails, all J/22 mains have a shorter, more head friendly mainsail!
