Gus J/22 sails have won it all – The World Championship, North American Champion, and possibly more overall Southwest Circuit Championships than all our competing sail makers combined. We revolutionized the class by shortening the leech of the mainsail and replacing that lost sail area with girth up higher on the sail. It too a skillful knowledge of the class rules and sail design to make the move. All our competing sail makers laughed at the sail when they first saw it, but stopped laughing when we won the North Americans and further endorsed the idea by introducing the idea to their designs the following year. Now, thanks
to Gus Sails, all J/22 mains have a shorter, more head friendly mainsail!

J/29 & J/30 CLASS
Gus Sails has a great following in the J/30, which is one of the most consistently heavily attended Offshore/One Design National Championships in the country.
Multiple J/30 National Championship wins, including a Back-to-Back National Championship. Our friends in the J/29 fleet have also enjoyed success with Gus Sails.
Our MC sails have won it all. Multiple Blue Chip, Midwinter and National
Championships have made Gus Sails unbeatable over the years. Our most popular design, the XP, helped Jeff Grinnan win the 2013 Masters Nationals!
MC XP – Perfect choice for all sailors in all wind conditions.

Gus Sails are new on the scene. We figure if our sails are good enough to win World Championships at the senior level, then they will be good enough to win
at the junior level. Most importantly, we bring price integrity as we do our other classes. It’s easy to prey on uneducated customers but that is not good for the health of our sport and not ethical. Our 90 lb and under sail has already placed well
at a few regional events, including Texas Youth Race Week.

Bill sailed a Thistle in his youth so he wanted to perfect the sails in this class, first. Again, after evaluating the class rules, and applying his rare design knowledge, he changed the class forever. The Gus main is huge up top and the jib is flatter than the competitions to help control the Thistl'es powerful sailplan. Gus Sails customers have won Multiple Midwinters and National Championships as well as every major regional event. Gus Sails customer Bruce King Rarely sails. He is a family man and a business man. He sails far less than others he battles against. Still, his record is next to no ones,
winning or finishing second at most Midwinters and Nationals he attends.
